  I paid more than I have ever paid for a hotel room in the La Crosse area expecting a top of the line hotel but when I got there it was the same as any other hotel in the area but at 30 to 40 percent added cost. To top it off we arrived in La Crosse at 1:00pm and wanted to check into our room to get ready for a grandson's birthday party which was scheduled to start at 3:00pm in Holmen, WI (about 20 minutes north of the hotel). We were told that the room would not be available until 2:00pm. We went shopping for an hour only to find that the room still wasn't ready. Finally got a diifferent room at 2:30pm which made us late for the birthday party. They then ran my credit card and they forgot to give it back to me and I forgot to ask for it back. This caused a problem later in the weekend when I went to pay for diner and didn’t have my card. Then at breakfast in the morning, there was not even close to enough table and chairs for the hotel of that size. We had to get our food and carry it back to our room. All in all it was a very bad stay at the hotel that cost too much for very bad service. I will never stay there again.

  This hotel has been the best hotel that i have every stayed at. the service was excellent and the hot breakfast in the morning was great.

  The room was clean, the bedding very nice, the hot breakfast good and the staff pleasant. The hotel structure is nice enough and in a convenient and decent area. The bed was rough, though, the hall smelled like cigarette smoke, and there was no elevator (and of course we had no choice except for a 2nd floor room).
